What makes Minecraft so popular???

What makes Minecraft special? Why most people play Minecraft? Why it is so popular? You could ask two different people who play and get two completely different answers. It's because that’s the reason which already lends so much credibility to this game, but it's even become more than just a game to many people. It's allowed people to create real friendships. It’s allowed people to creatively express themselves. It's allowed opportunities for jobs. It’s allowed schools to even use it as a teaching tool.

It's allowed an outlet for people to let go of any problems or responsibilities in their life. Just for a moment and get lost in Minecraft's endless world and that list is far from over Minecraft is so expansive. That there isn't just a single community for the game but multiple sub-communities. Let's quickly talk about how significant these sub-communities are and how they've helped the game become what it is today.

The hearts of Minecraft's communities stem from the sides of Youtube thousands upon thousands of YouTubers have dedicated videos to Minecraft. Then there are plenty of YouTubers such as myself. They have specialized their content exclusively on Minecraft and be able to sustain themselves nicely of that alone. Which already speaks volumes for the game but have you ever wondered how so many Minecraft YouTubers can co-exist successfully. It's because Minecraft is no linear game. 

It's never pointed you in a single direction or show knew where to go or what to do!! Nobody played the game when they started out everyone learned. Once we learned what we did… and where we went… was all up to us. So unlike most other games, our Minecraft at the journey we experienced was uniquely overwhelmed with this immense variety. Minecraft had to offer many shared their experience and knowledge and brought what they did in their game to the public.

Where youtube has allowed these unique journeys and ideas to be seen by millions of people. To simplify all that it's the incredible variety of experiences Minecraft has to offer that makes the game so enticing to play and watch. Youtube has allowed people to watch other people's experiences on a very large scale. This diversifies people into enjoying a number of different parts of the game. Expanding the Minecraft community into sub-communities with the need to learn, know, and see more…

These sub-communities watch a Minecraft video on youtube of something. They too enjoyed and want to view what someone else has done and accomplished. Just like you, I too started out doing what you're doing right now simply watching a Minecraft video. I started to learn and by interest gradually grew as I realized how much more there was to the game and what others were doing with it.

So what are they Minecraft sub-communities,  Minecraft sub-genres... How many are there survival? Let's Plays creative... Let's Plays competitive server... Let's Plays house tutorials… Redstone tutorials… Redstone experiments, 3d animation, single and multiplayer adventure maps', informative videos, role-play short films, music parodies and song scenes, showcase design, showcases mod, showcases megastructure, showcases update, preview topic discussions, time-lapses and that's just what I can think of alone.

I'm sure you can add a few to the list as well and this all is just a testament to what's Minecraft has achieved. Despite how many subgenres actually exist with Minecraft the communities and viewers that belong to them aren't even divided. They're diverse… for example, people who may like survival… Let's Plays may also actively watch time-lapses and red stone tutorials. 

So not only is your journey in Minecraft unique but the subgenres of the game you actively watch and learn from making your role. As a Minecraft are that much more special and when I play Minecraft, I always get the sense that I've partaken in something special. Something big in 2016 Minecraft flew past 100 million copies sold.

That is a ridiculous number and a number that has been added up for sales from phones, tablets, Xbox 360s, Xbox ones, play station 3s, Play station 4, and PC. The Sun never sets on a part of the earth where Minecraft isn't being played or viewed. It's been played in every country on the plan. If everyone who played Minecraft joined hands. We would almost circle the entire earth two times over.

Minecraft has even turned into a culture with thousands upon thousands attending conventions. Where players from the massive community can meet up in person and interact every year. It's made for some great Christmas and birthday presents and even prizes given. Even other business opportunities. As well the merchandise world of Minecraft is another whole beast in and of itself the game in comparison to most others doesn't actually cost that much at all for what it has to offer.

The game itself is very well designed and structured maintaining and easy to pick up experience. Whilst catering for people who want to push its limits. We've seen it grow in quality and variety with every patch. That has come and gone and that's just the game alone. Its community and developers are still pushing the boundaries today to see where they can take this phenomenon. 

Believe it or not, it's had a massive influence over many other fantastic games. To say the least, chances are a lot of the survival or sandbox games you see or play. Today may not even exist as they've derived core gameplay elements from what's Minecraft popularized as the most successful indie game to ever live.

Whether you play on handheld console or PC. You've become a part of one of gaming's biggest ever achievements I couldn't be prouder of what's Minecraft has achieved. I couldn't be happier with the people I've met with it. I owe a lot to Minecraft and what I've tried to give back to its community our ways, people can learn ways for people to laugh and ways for people just to enjoy themselves.
